🔶 Saudi-led coalition: We intercepted the Houthis' missile over Riyadh.
The Saudi-led military coalition in Yemen announced on Saturday, November 7, that coalition air defense forces intercepted and destroyed a cruise missile fired by the Houthis that was moving towards the Riyadh area.
Turki al-Maliki, the spokesman for the coalition, said in a message on the X social network: "The air defense systems intercepted and destroyed a cruise missile fired by the Houthi assassination militia towards the Riyadh area."
The announcement of this news occurs in a situation where the conflicts and tensions between the Saudi-led coalition and the Houthi group in Yemen are increasing.
Since 2015, Saudi Arabia has been leading a military coalition supporting the recognized government of Yemen against the Houthis. A year before, in 2014, the Houthis captured Sana'a, the capital of Yemen, and other parts of the country.
