🔶 Trump: I have no intention of firing Hogst.

On Thursday (November 5), US President Donald Trump announced that he plans to keep Pete Guest, the country's defense secretary, in response to growing calls for his firing.

"I'm definitely going to keep him," Trump said in an interview with ABC News.

Referring to the calls he received about the performance of the defense minister, the American president added: "I receive calls about him." I don't understand why."

At the same time, Trump acknowledged that if he decides to replace the defense secretary, it will be easier to confirm his replacement in the next two months, because Republicans still have control of the Senate until the new Congress begins in January.

These statements were made as the defeat of Republicans in the midterm elections for Congress increased the pressure on Guest because of his role in the war with Iran. Trump previously admitted that the continuation of the war with Iran and the increase in gasoline prices contributed to the defeat of the Republicans. Jeddy Vance, Vice President of the United States, also referred to the war as the main cause of this failure.
