🔶 Defeat in the elections of Trump and Netanyahu; The future of the Iran war.

Report by Murad Rahmati

After the victory of the Democrats in the elections on November 3, the President of the United States Donald Trump admitted to "Fox News" that the Iran war played a role in the defeat of the Republicans.

However, he defended his decision towards Iran and considered it a correct action in accordance with the long-term interests of America and the world.

Trump said about the possibility of escalating the war that his administration would explore this issue and use it if it saw an opportunity, but he said nothing about ending the war immediately.

The American president also saw no need to use nuclear weapons against Iran and claimed that Iran's capabilities had already been destroyed.

Muhammad Bakr Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Parliament, in response to the results of the American elections, saw the victory of the Democrats as a sign of the opposition of the people of this country to the war. According to him, the American voters, whether for moral reasons or because of the economic consequences and the increase in the cost of living, support this message.

In Israel's captivity, Netanyahu's coalition failed to obtain the necessary majority to form the government, and the political future of the prime minister in this country is unclear.

These developments raise a fundamental question; Will the electoral defeat of the Republicans and the weakening of Netanyahu's position lead to a reduction in tensions and change during the war, or will the policy of pressure and confrontation with Tehran continue?

Menashe Amir, an expert on Middle East affairs from a captive territory, believes that the defeat of the Republicans in the congressional elections will not have a major impact on Donald Trump's policy towards Iran.

Remembering that there are still two years left in Trump's presidency, he said that Congress can create restrictions for him, but the US president announced that he will use his veto power and carry out his desired actions. Mashallah Razmi, a political analyst based in Paris, contrary to Amir's opinion, believes that the results of the American elections can influence Washington's policy towards Iran, although the scope of this influence will be limited.

He described the Democrats' victory in both houses of Congress as a significant defeat for Trump and the Republicans, and the American press referred to it as a "referendum against Donald Trump" and a "tsunami against the Republican Party."
