📸 Picture of the day: Escorting the deceased to another world.
"Toro Nagashi" is one of Japan's traditional ceremonies held to commemorate the deceased. Families sometimes leave paper lanterns with an offering on the river or sea water to send the spirits of their loved ones who have gone to the other world. In Japanese, the word "toro" means lantern and "negashi" means to leave something in the water. Japanese immigrants in Brazil honored this ceremony by lighting dozens of lanterns.
