Abbas Irakichi, Iran's foreign minister, announced that the negotiations with the United States are being conducted "very intensively" through mediators with the aim of reaching an agreement to end the war. At the same time, he emphasized that "everything depends on the political rationality" of Washington.
In his exclusive interview with IRNA, published by this news agency on Monday, November 2, Iraqichi also announced that Tehran will not back down from its terms of reaching an agreement, ending the war and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Iranian officials, secret negotiations have been conducted through mediators, mainly Qatar and Pakistan, and now it is the American side that must act to end the months-long deadlock.
In an interview with IRNA, Abbas Iraqichi also said that Iran is ready to interact if the other side "enters the path of diplomacy honestly." At the same time, he warned: "In the event of a new military experiment or deception by the enemy, a much harsher and more unfortunate response will be given than before."
