Qatar's state media reported on the telephone conversation of Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of this country, with Youssef Raji, the Foreign Minister of Lebanon.
According to these reports, the focus of the talks between the senior diplomats of the two sides was the latest developments and diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the region.
During this conversation, Qatar's foreign minister emphasized his country's support for "all diplomatic efforts and initiatives in order to reach a solution that will guarantee the release of maritime shipping and pave the way for a comprehensive agreement that will establish sustainable peace in the region."
So far, Qatar has played a mediating role in the peace negotiations between Iran and the US, and now it is trying to prevent the escalation of tensions and the occurrence of a renewed military conflict between these two countries.
