🔶 Is Salami's Republic still an individual oriented government?

Report by Daniel Omri

In the political structure of the Salami Republic, the position of the leader was always beyond the head of a government institution. For nearly five decades, although the government, parliament, judicial and military institutions played a role in running the country, decisions on strategic issues, from foreign policy to national security, ultimately depended on the leader's opinion.

The killing of Ali Khamenei and the election of Mujtaba Khamenei in his place now put this structure in a different position. Executive and security agencies are still operating, but Ali Khamenei's replacement has not appeared in public since the beginning of the war, and independent information about his direct involvement in day-to-day decisions has not been published.

In such a situation, the issue is not just the continuation of government activity. The more important question is, how are major decisions made and who has the last word in case of disagreement between political and military institutions? Mohsen Razai, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, tried to answer this question in a television interview on Saturday, October 31. Referring to the functioning of government institutions during the war, he said that the Republic of Salami has created a coherent structure over the past 47 years, the continuation of which does not depend on the presence of individuals.
