🔶 Mertes under pressure from fellow parties; Request for the transfer of the leadership of the Christian-Democratic Party.

Friedrich Mertes, Chancellor of Germany, this time faces criticism from his own party. Local officials of the Christian Democratic Party (CDU) are due to meet with him on Monday, November 2 in Berlin, despite defeats in the election, falling support in the polls and differences in the ruling coalition have increased discontent within the party body.

Some of these officials want to change the way decisions are made and take concrete steps to lower the cost of living. Some doubted Mertes' ability to run the government and the party at the same time, in a more open way than before, and suggest that he hand over the leadership of the party and remain as chancellor.

Desiree Schrad, head of the party's local organization in Frankfurt Oder, told the German news agency, describing the situation as a "dark red" warning light. Stating that a significant number of members are leaving the party due to dissatisfaction with the federal government's policies, he says: "This issue cannot be covered up." It has become more difficult for local officials to defend the functioning of the government in Seidogo to citizens.

Ingo Fleming, head of the Christian Democratic Party organization in Dresden, says people don't feel that Berlin understands the gravity of the situation.

According to him, this concept made it difficult for the positions in the party body and the discussion about the chancellor took shape.

The demands of the local bodies mainly revolve around three issues: making the voices of the members heard, ending internal conflicts and making decisions that people can see the results of in their day-to-day lives.
