🔶 President captive Eail consults with parties to form a government.
Yitzhak Herzog, President of the Prisoners of Israel, will begin on Wednesday, November 4, his consultations to form a government with the parties that entered the Parliament of the Prisoners of Israel (Knesset). Based on this, the Haaretz newspaper reported that this meeting was going to be broadcast live.
As usual, the president will choose the candidate he believes has the best chance of winning a parliamentary majority, rather than automatically appointing the leader of the largest party.
The leader of the largest party is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whose conservative right-wing Likud party became the largest parliamentary faction in Tuesday's parliamentary election, winning 27 of the 120 seats. Gadi Eisenkot, the opposition candidate, also won 21 mandates with his new party called Isr. Since neither the ruling coalition nor the opposition bloc managed to obtain the required majority of 61 seats, the election result resulted in a parliamentary deadlock.
