Egypt's warning, Pakistan's hope: diplomacy in the shadow of war.

Egypt's warning, Pakistan's hope: diplomacy in the shadow of war.

Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdulati warned at the 22nd Manama Security Conference (Manama Dialogue) held in Bahrain at the end of October that if the war between America and Iran resumes, "its results will be much more destructive than what we have seen so far."

"We must learn from the past," he stressed.

At the Manama conference, a Pakistani military spokesman said that if there were no positive signs, General Asim Munir, the chief of the Pakistani military, would not have traveled to Tehran twice in October.

Munir's last trip with representatives of Saudi Arabia and Turkey was on Monday, October 26.

At the same time, the Pakistani spokesman warned that there are "disturbing and opposing forces" who think that the continuation of this conflict is in their interest. He did not elaborate on that.

In recent months, Pakistan has played the role of the main mediator between Iran and the US. This week, Qatar also presented a new plan to resolve the crisis, the details of which have not yet been published.
