🔶 Interim Friday imam from Tehran: Amendment of the nuclear doctrine has become a national demand.

Commenting on what he called the results of the survey, Mohammad Hassan Hajj Aliakbari, the interim imam of Tehran, said that more than 70% of the participants in this survey demanded a revision of the Islamic Republic's core doctrine, and that this issue is no longer limited to a specific movement or political group.

Haj Aliakbari said in his Friday prayer sermons in Tehran on 8 Baban (October 30): "We are facing a national demand."

He described the revision of the nuclear program as "a response to the experience of bad promises" and considered it a necessity to rethink the country's security equations. According to him, this debate does not stem from an emotional or temporary reaction, but is rooted in Iran's historical experience in dealing with American policy and the people's right to enjoy security.

Friday's interim imam of Tehran also claimed that raising this issue had a wide impact abroad and pressured and rejected the Islamic Republic's opponents. According to him, "When we raised this demand at the Friday prayer, it was clear that a lot of pressure was put on the enemy."

Haj Aliakbari added that the topic proposal was welcomed by some of the public opinion in the country.

In recent months, several figures and political currents close to the government, citing security and regional developments, have called for a review of the Islamic Republic's nuclear policy. Meanwhile, the Iranian authorities have always referred to the fatwa of Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, regarding the sanctity of the production and use of nuclear weapons as the official basis of Iran's nuclear policy.

Now some political circles believe that the new conditions required a review of this approach.
