The government based in eastern Libya banned the entry of Iranian and Afghan nationals.
The government based in eastern Libya announced on the evening of Wednesday, October 6 (November 19) that the entry of Iranian and Afghan citizens through all land, sea and air crossings is prohibited.
According to the Reuters news agency, this action extends the restrictions on entry into Libya that the government based in the east of the country imposed in June on citizens of four African countries.
Since 2014, Libya has been divided between two rival governments in the east and west of the country. The government did not announce a reason for this decision.
The Libyan government announced in a statement published on its official Facebook page that the Ministry of Interior will be responsible for implementing this decision and deporting Iranian and Afghan citizens who do not have a valid residence permit.
