The British Maritime Agency (UKMTO) announced on Thursday, October 29 that it had received a report of a fire on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, but did not provide details on the cause of the fire or possible casualties.

The agency said it received a report from the captain of another ship that he saw the burning ship 9 nautical miles (17 km) north of Hessab, Oman, located near the Strait of Hormuz.

At the same time, the public relations of the Revolutionary Guards Navy also announced the explosion of 3 "offensive" oil tankers while crossing the unauthorized route and abandoning them on the southern shores of the Strait of Hormuz.

In its announcement, the Revolutionary Guards claimed that these oil tankers "exploded and caught fire while passing through the unauthorized southern passage of the Strait of Hormuz after hitting a mine and being abandoned on the southern shore of the Strait of Hormuz." According to the claims of the Revolutionary Guards Navy, "These tankers turned off all their radar and navigation systems and tried to exit the unauthorized southern lane of the Strait of Hormuz, ignoring the warnings of the Revolutionary Guards Navy, when they hit a naval mine and exploded."

At the same time, the Revolutionary Guards Navy defined Centcom's statements on social media as "illusions" and declared: "The unauthorized route in the Strait of Hormuz is polluted, and the owners and crews of the vessels are responsible for passing through these routes and it is forbidden to pay attention to Centcom's illusions in cyberspace."

IRGC PR previously announced by releasing statements that the IRGC Air Force Air Defense System "intercepted and destroyed" an MQ-1 drone in the skies east of the Strait of Hormuz, off Sirik, on the morning of Thursday, October 29.
