Ismail Bekaie, a spokesman for Iran's foreign ministry, accused Washington of "ignoring diplomacy" and breaking its commitments after US President Donald Trump called the ceasefire with Tehran "a waste of time".
Bakay wrote in X, Trump's statements show the "emptiness of diplomatic commitments" of America. He also called on European governments to stop what he called "whitewashing America's wrongdoing" and keep Washington immune from accountability.
Trump said at a rally in Mississippi on Tuesday: "We had a little truce, which I never really liked and I thought it was kind of a waste of time."
The President of the United States said that this ceasefire was set for the arrival of several ships, but in his opinion "it was just a waste of time".
