🔶 The election committee rejected Netanyahu's request to extend the vote.
The Central Prisoners' Election Committee rejected the request of the Likud party led by Binyamin Netanyahu and its allies to extend the voting after 10:00 p.m. and announced that due to the high participation of the citizens, there is no reason to increase the polling hours.
After reviewing the ruling parties' request, this committee announced: "In the current situation, there is no justification to extend the voting hours."
The Central Election Commission also emphasized that the high participation of voters in all demographic groups shows the broad attention of the citizens to the democratic process and there is no need to change the end time of voting. However, the committee announced that due to the power outage, polling will continue in the Jewish settlement located in Hebron, in the West Bank until 22:00.
According to the captive election rules, branches with fewer than 350 eligible voters close at 8:00 PM under normal conditions.
