The Houthis called Egypt's military support for Saudi Arabia a "declaration of war against Yemen." Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of the political bureau of the Yemeni Houthis, in response to the Egyptian parliament's decision to provide military support to Saudi Arabia, declared that Cairo had in fact declared war against Yemen in this action. In a message on the Telegram social network, he wrote: "Egypt and the parliament of this country announced their support for the so-called defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and in this action declared war against the Republic of Yemen." This Houthi official's statements came after the Egyptian parliament agreed to provide military support to Saudi Arabia to counter Houthi attacks. The Houthis, who are supported by the Islamic Republic, have increased their missile and UAV attacks against Saudi Arabia in recent weeks. Muhammad Ali al-Houthi's position indicates the group's opposition to Egypt's possible entry into military conflicts in support of Riyadh.
