Bolsonaro previously said that he does not accept the election results and will demand their cancellation. However, Valdemar Costa Neto, head of the right-wing liberal party, for which Bolsonaro was a candidate in the presidential elections, announced on Monday, October 26 local time that this party accepts the results of the vote as announced by the Electoral Tribunal.
After the announcement of the victory of leftist President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in the election, Bolsonaro said that he did not recognize this result and criticized and questioned the electoral tribunal's sudden decision to extend the voting time by two hours. The court made this decision due to the disruption and problems with public transportation as well as severe weather conditions in some parts of the country.
