On Sunday, October 25, during the review of the program "to fight the infiltration of intelligence services and foreign governments or entities", representatives of the Salami Council of Iran agreed to determine the penalty of expulsion and a fine of up to 10,000 euros for the unauthorized entry or stay of a foreign citizen.

According to the revised section 23, the amount of the fine is determined at the discretion of the judicial authority and is proportional to the financial capacity of the individual. Registration of biometric information, including the biological characteristics of the person, is also expected in this article.

Unauthorized entry or stay caused by a "reasonable excuse" or a delay in the administrative procedure of renewing the permit are not included in this ruling.

This order also subjects foreign citizens with legal entry to deportation and fines in case of "action against state security, violation of public order or performance of an activity that is fundamentally inconsistent with the restrictions of their residence visa or residence permit." Also, the representatives approved to increase the punishment of foreign nationals who commit another punishable crime in Iran.
