🔶 Martes: Russia is a great threat to Germany and seeks to destabilize the country.
German Chancellor Friedrich Mertes described Russia as a major threat to his country's security on Saturday (October 24th) in Munich and at a Christian Social Party convention in Bavaria, saying that Moscow is constantly trying to destabilize Germany.
He also warned against the growing pressures of extreme left and right movements on the German political system.
According to Reuters, in his speech at this meeting Mertes said that Germany is facing very serious challenges in the field of internal and external security.
Referring to threats from Russia, he said: "We are facing a huge threat in the east of our continent."
The German chancellor added that Russia's war against Ukraine had a great impact on Europe's security order, and now Moscow is trying to expand the scope of its operations to other countries as well.
Mertes emphasized: "We see that Russia is trying to destabilize Germany every day." Referring to cyber attacks, vandalism and threats to critical infrastructure in Europe, he warned that the dangers caused by Russia's actions are no longer limited to the war in Ukraine.
