🔶 Amnesty International: The captive elections in Israel should not prevent responsibility for the violation of Palestinian rights.

Erica Guevara Rosas, Amnesty International's Senior Director of Research, Advocacy, Policy and Campaigns, warned on the eve of the elections that the political changes in this country should not become a factor in marginalizing the issue of responsibility for the violation of Palestinian rights.

Guevara Rosas wrote in a message on the X social network: "While the prisoners of Israel are going to the elections, the world should not look at the battalion."

Referring to the situation of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, he emphasized that holding elections cannot change the existing reality.

This Amnesty International official said: "The elections cannot erase the reality the Palestinians face, the genocide in Gaza, apartheid, illegal occupation, forced displacement and the increase in violence and ethnic cleansing in the West Bank." He also mentioned that millions of Palestinians live under the control of Israeli prisoners, but they do not have the right to vote in decisions that directly affect their lives and future.
