🔶 Netanyahu is looking for an unprecedented operation in the West Bank.

A militant armed ground attack near Hebron has once again turned the West Bank into the center of a security crisis. On the morning of Friday, October 23 (November 1), two armed attackers opened fire on Israeli prisoners at a checkpoint near Hebron.

According to the IDF prisoners, two soldiers aged 20 and 23 were killed and three others were injured. During the confrontation, Israeli prisoners killed the two attackers.

The Israeli army believes that the attackers intended to carry out a larger ground attack against civilians in one of the central axes of the area.

This militant armed ground attack not only led to the start of the army's extensive operation in the southern West Bank, but forced the Israeli Prime Minister to devise an unprecedented plan.

Benjamin Netanyahu is determined to carry out a large-scale military operation in the West Bank, which he says has not had a parallel since the Six Day War in 1967. A few hours after the ground attack on Friday, the IDF, the Shin Bet and the Border Guard launched a joint operation in the Hebron area.

According to the Israeli authorities, the purpose of the operation is to search for weapons, infrastructure related to armed groups and detained suspects.

The army announced that this operation may continue for a long time.

At the same time, a similar operation also began in Jenin, Nablus, Tumon and several neighborhoods in East Jerusalem (Bethlehem Jerusalem).

The security forces interrogated dozens of people and set up many inspection stations throughout the West Bank.

What distinguishes this event from many previous attacks is the political response of the government of the captives.

Immediately after the ground attack, Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the closure of the Hebron crossing and asked the security forces to prepare for wider restrictions throughout the West Bank.

He also blamed Hamas for the ground attack. Hamas praised the operation, but did not take direct responsibility for it.
