🔶 Iran's representative at the UN: We did not suspend monitoring duties for the agency.
Golmhossein Darzi, Iran's ambassador and responsible for affairs at the United Nations, said that Tehran "neither abandoned nor suspended" its defense obligations, that is, the obligations related to the IAEA's monitoring of nuclear materials and activities.
According to the "Tasnim" news agency, Darzi said on Friday, October 23 at the UN General Assembly meeting that the military attacks on Iran's facilities changed the security conditions for the implementation of these commitments.
Referring to Iran's membership in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty since 1970, he emphasized that despite the attacks, Tehran has complied with its international obligations.
The ambassador and representative of the Republic of Salami at the UN also stated that the agency confirmed that its inspectors left Iran for security reasons, and said that these concerns cannot be ignored when requesting their return.
