🔶 Netanyahu issued the order to prepare for the complete closure of the West Bank.

The office of Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, announced that he had ordered the security forces to prepare for the complete closure of the West Bank. This decision was published after Friday morning's shooting near Hebron and the eve of the elections for the prisoners' parliament.

According to this announcement, Netanyahu ordered the closure of Hebron even after a security assessment meeting attended by Defense Minister Israel Katz and Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir.

In a shooting near this city, according to Israeli POW sources, five Israeli POWs were injured, and the condition of some of them is described as serious. Two suspected attackers, identified as Palestinians, were killed. The POWs said they had an M16 rifle and small arms.

Netanyahu also announced a large-scale operation that is halting and said that Israeli forces will go after Hamas prisoners and those who ordered the attacks. However, the membership of the two attackers in Hamas is still unclear.

The IDF announced that checkpoints had been set up and a number of Palestinian areas around Hebron were closed. The alert order for the entire West Bank does not mean it will be in full effect at the time of the news.
