At least five people were injured in the shooting on the morning of Friday, October 23 near Hebron in the West Bank. According to the aid organization Magen David Adom, the condition of two people is critical, one person is moderately injured and two people are superficially injured.

The IDF announced the killing of two attackers and said that the search for possible accomplices continues. The military forces also blocked the entrances to Hebron, several surrounding villages and road number 35.

Eyal Zamir, IDF Chief of Staff, said that a large amount of ammunition was discovered in the attackers' car and claimed that the soldiers' action prevented a wider ground attack. The Walla website also reported that a battalion of reserve forces was apparently the target of the ground attack.

After the shooting, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu canceled the morning programs of the Likud party on Friday. Itamar Bangvir, the Minister of National Security, also called for the disbanding of the Palestinian Autonomous Battalion.
