🔶 The human rights organization Khiva asked the German federal prosecutor to investigate the crimes against humanity in Iran.

The Khiva Human Rights Organization filed a complaint with the Federal Attorney General of Germany, on the basis of which the "harassment and persecution of Kurds and Baluchis in Iran on an ethnic basis will be investigated, as a separate axis in the investigation of possible crimes against humanity."

This complaint also demands the preservation of evidence and the investigation of the criminal responsibility of the perpetrators, commanders and decision makers involved in the repression.

According to the lawyer in charge of managing this complaint, this is the first request in Germany that specifically calls for investigating the ethnic persecution of Kurds and Baloch in Iran as a separate axis of the investigation.

This complaint is related to the suppression of the "Woman, Life, Liberation" rebellion in 2022 and 2023, the killing of protesters in January 2026 and the subsequent wave of repression. The aforementioned complaint also refers to reports by human rights organizations and international research institutions about illegal killings, torture, sexual violence, forced disappearances, arbitrary arrests and the prevention of medical treatment for injured protesters.
