In joint statements, Qatar and France condemned Iran's military attacks on the countries of the region and also called for the re-establishment of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

The joint statement of Qatar and France was issued on Wednesday, October 21 after the meeting between Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and French President Emmanuel Macron in Doha. In their statement, these two countries considered the Islamic Republic's ground attacks on the countries of the region a "serious violation of international law" and condemned it.

In their joint statement, Qatar and France also emphasized the "importance of revitalizing the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz without restrictions or complications." At the beginning of the week, the Qatari mediator, Ibrahim bin Sultan Al-Hasani, said that diplomatic efforts to reduce regional tensions and reopen the Strait of Hormuz are underway, and Iraqi Abbas, the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic, also said on Wednesday that "Iran is ready to give another chance to diplomacy."
