On Wednesday, October 21, the United States Treasury Department announced that it had sanctioned five individuals, four companies and institutions, as well as nine ships associated with the Salami Republic's "Shadow Fleet" as part of Operation Economic Exclusion.

The US Treasury announced that these individuals, ships and institutions were sanctioned for assisting in the transfer and concealment of Iranian cargo.

According to the ministry's announcement, one of the companies added to the awarded list is the "Carnakis & Karnakis" law firm, which operates in Greece and Panama and helped transfer hundreds of millions of dollars of Iranian oil, petrochemical products and steel by registering shell companies and hiding the true owners of ships.

This institution was also accused of creating a network of companies linked to Seyed Asadullah Imam Juma, an Iranian liquefied gas trader.
