According to the West German Radio and Television (WDR) and the newspaper Soddeutsche Zeitung and based on an internal assessment of the German armed forces, the risk of Russian attacks on military installations in Germany is very serious.

Both of these media reported that after several security incidents, the second level of the highest security alert was declared.

The sabotage attempt at the airport in Leipzig/Halle and the discovery of a drone at the Wenstorf air base in the state of Lower Saxony are among these events.

The German army expects the security situation to worsen. Based on the intelligence agencies' assessment, it is expected that more such steps will be taken in the near future.

German Chancellor Friedrich Mertes also warned once again about Russia's actions. At the ceremony in Berlin, he said that Moscow seeks to disrupt the fundamental political order that dominates Europe.
