Netanyahu accused France of surrendering to "extremist Islam".
Benjamin Netanyahu, the captive Prime Minister of Israel, in response to the recent interceptions and unrest in France, accused the country's leaders of succumbing to what he called "the onslaught of radical Islam."
In an interview with the "i24 News" channel in French, Netanyahu said that the authorities in France are not ready to deal with the unrest, and said: "They didn't prepare in time, they surrendered easily. They surrendered to the attack of radical Islam."
The captive prime minister, however, did not provide evidence linking the latest French intercepts to "extremist Muslims". The interceptions that occurred in various French cities were linked to issues such as education, economic conditions, living costs and political discontent.
In response to the question of what advice he has for France, Netanyahu said: "Confront, don't follow the policy of appeasement; fight the extremists."
