🔶 The Saudi-led coalition announced the interception of five drones.

The Saudi-led coalition, which is at war with the Houthis in Yemen, announced on Wednesday, October 21, that it had intercepted and destroyed five drones launched at that country.

Turki al-Maliki, the spokesman for this coalition, said that four drones were intercepted in the eastern regions of Saudi Arabia and Medina. A short time later he announced the downing of another drone in the eastern region. However, he did not mention details from which side these drones were launched.

This month, Saudi Arabia has been the target of repeated attacks by the Iran-backed Houthis. Among these attacks was the ground attack on Riyadh International Airport, which is considered the deadliest ground attack on Saudi Arabia in recent years.

The tomb of the Prophet of Islam and Masjid al-Nabi are located in Medina, which is considered one of the most Muslim cities near Mecca. The Houthis claim they are not targeting these two cities.
