🔶 Barzani's criticism of the "irresponsible performance" of the Iranian Kurdish parties

The escalation of regional tensions and the recent military confrontation between the United States, Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran have brought their political and security shards to the Kurdistan region of Iraq. The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nachirvan Barzani, visited the annual meeting of the "Middle East Research Institute" (MERI) in Erbil on Monday, October 20 (October 12), in rare and honest statements the performance of the Iranian Kurdish parties opposed to the Islamic Republic.

Barzani accused the Kurdish parties of "irresponsible" behavior; A position that could indicate a deep difference between the strategic interests of Erbil and these parties in the middle of the crisis in the Middle East.

The focus of the Kurdistan Regional President's criticism was the propaganda and media approach of some of these parties in the early days of regional tensions. Pointing out that the Kurdistan Region should not become part of this war, Barzani said: "What was done on social media that these forces announced that they were entering Iran, put the region at great risk." Some of them pretended to be war heroes; Although we knew it was not possible."

During the 1404 uprising and the days that followed, the accounts affiliated with the Kurdistan Liberation Party-Pak, which is a pro-independence organization, posted videos with the theme of an armed ground attack against Islamic Republic forces. Although no independent source or media has so far confirmed the reality and authenticity of these videos, at the same time, some foreign media and even Twitter accounts attributed to the "Mossad" have given them a media dose by republishing these contents; According to experts, this action has a propaganda function rather than a military value and has escalated security sensitivities against the climate.
