The Red Cross: The escalation of the conflicts in the Middle East will be disastrous

The International Committee of the Red Cross warned on Tuesday, October 13 (October 21) that a further escalation of the conflicts in the Middle East could be disastrous for tens of millions of citizens and called for an immediate reduction in tensions.

Miriana Spoliarich, head of the International Committee of the Red Cross, said that "Citizens are paying an unacceptable price for the conflicts." According to him, the number of dead and wounded and the amount of destruction in Saudi Arabia have increased in recent days, and the human casualties, displacement and damage to civilian infrastructure in various areas, including Aden and Sana'a, are also increasing.

Referring to the situation in Yemen, Spoliaric said: "In Yemen, the number of dead and displaced and the amount of damage to civilian infrastructure, including in Aden and Sana'a, is increasing at an alarming rate. Throughout the Middle East, civilian infrastructure has been repeatedly damaged by ground attacks and human lives have been lost."
