dating sites in Iran; Platforms to encourage child marriage? A report by Mitra Shujai Human rights activist group Harana has obtained results in a detailed research report showing that on some Iranian dating sites, pictures and information of children under the age of 15 are presented as marriage options. Based on this study, it was also determined that although the registration age for girls is 15 years, "the system accepts the possibility to register a year of birth equivalent to 12 years without a warning or a specific age barrier". Also, in the search for a partner section, "the minimum age selected is 13 years". Harana's research, which mainly focuses on the "Adam and Eve" application: "In a survey conducted on October 5, 2026, a search for girls between the ages of 13 and 17 showed the system's maximum display capacity, which is 100 profiles; an issue that could be the existence of more profiles, between 1-3 profiles that could be results of 1-3 profiles. 14-year-old girls were also observed. Our attempt to contact the administrators of the Adam and Eve app was unsuccessful, but it was emphasized on their Telegram channel: "Here we must clearly state that Adam and Eve has no users under the age of 18, and the membership of people under the age of 18 is not allowed in this system." It was also written on this platform that several Telegram channels abused "Adam and Eve" and published a picture claiming that this picture is not an "Adam and Eve" application at all. And finally, he wrote: "The result of this false and misleading news was that the Adam and Eve app was removed from Google Play and the Adam and Eve collection page on Instagram."
