CENTCOM: We conducted a ground attack on a ship with precision guided munitions
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on the morning of Sunday, October 11 that it disabled a commercial ship in the Sea of Oman. According to Centcom, the ship's crew did not pay attention to this despite repeated warnings and tried to bypass the naval blockade of Iranian ports along the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Centcom's statement, this commercial ship named Ocean Molika, sailing under the flag of Panama, left one of Iran's ports and was about to enter the Arabian Sea. At this time, a fighter jet targeted the rear of the ship with precision guided munitions.
This news was confirmed shortly after British naval operations announced that they had received a report that an oil tanker leaving the Strait of Hormuz had been hit by an unidentified missile from the left side of the ship, resulting in a fire.
The report indicates that the crew is safe. This organization added that at the time of publishing the report, the extent of the damage and the environmental consequences of this event were not yet known.
