🔶 Trump called the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Navi Pillai "disgraceful".

US President Donald Trump criticized the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Navi Fili, a former judge at the International Criminal Court, as "a shameful and embarrassing decision. Speaking to supporters in Syracuse, New York, Trump said this year's selection by the Nobel committee in Oslo would leave an "indelible stain" on Norway's knees.

The Nobel Committee announced on Friday, October 9 (October 17) that Navi Pillai, a lawyer from South Africa, will receive the prize for his efforts in protecting human rights and fighting war crimes.

According to this committee, this 85-year-old jurist, as a former judge of the International Criminal Court and former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, played a decisive role in the "criminal prosecution of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide."

Pillai also chaired an independent UN commission of inquiry that last year accused Israel of committing "genocide" in the Gaza Strip. Therefore, the awarding of this award was met with severe criticism from the POW government. Shortly after this news was published, the US government imposed new sanctions against the International Criminal Court.

Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, announced that the US would "ban all transactions with this rogue court, limit its resources and severely undermine its ability to act."

"I've never heard of this particular person, but congratulations anyway," Trump told supporters in Navy Philly.

At the same time, he emphasized again that he considers himself worthy of receiving the Nobel Peace Prize.

Trump said: "The United States of America, which I represent as your president, should have received the Nobel Peace Prize, but it did not."
