🔶 Continued interceptions in India; Arrested hundreds of young supporters of the "Joke" movement.
On Saturday, October 10 (October 18), Indian police arrested hundreds of protesters in Delhi and deployed thousands of security forces in the capital to prevent youth gatherings from being intercepted.
According to Reuters, the protesters, who supported the youth movement known as the Janta Jocks Party, demanded the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar, the head of the Election Commission of India. The protesters intercepted the revision of the voter list in favor of the Bharatiya Janata Party led by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This movement, which chose the ironic name of the Cockroach People's Party, managed to organize intercept rallies of young people in India. During these interceptions, the anti-riot forces repeatedly used tear gas and batons to disperse the protesters and arrested hundreds of people. As tensions escalated, mobile internet was cut off in parts of the capital, including around Jantar Mantar, central Delhi, where protesters were expected to gather.
