Saudi ambassador in Yemen: Bebelmandav strait has been cleared of "remnants of the Houthis"
Mohammed al-Jaber, the Saudi ambassador to Yemen, announced on Friday, October 9 (17 Mahar) that the Bablamandab strait has been freed from the "control of the Houthi group".
Aljaber wrote in a message on the X social network: "Happy gatherings and victory for all Yemenis and Arabs." Bebelmandav was freed from the remnants of the Houthi assassin militias." He did not provide further details.
Initially, the Houthis did not respond to the ambassador's statements.
Yemen has been at war since 2014, when the Houthis captured the country's capital Sana'a and several provinces. These developments led a Saudi-led coalition to enter the war in March 2015 to support the internationally recognized government of Yemen.
