Rubio dismissed Amnesty International's criticism of the war with Iran
Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, on Thursday, October 8 (October 16), during his trip to Portugal, strongly rejected Amnesty International's criticism that war crimes took place during the US clash with Iran, and called the organization a "fraudulent" organization. Rubio added that this organization should focus on the human rights violations committed by the Iranian regime against its own people.
In another part of his statement, the US Secretary of State said: "Amnesty International is a fraudulent organization." If you ask me what I think of Amnesty International's vision, do you know what I think Amnesty International should focus on? "On the Iranian regime that killed tens of thousands of people in the streets of Tehran and other parts of the country in cold blood." Responding to a question about US military activity using the Lajes Air Base in Portugal, including the flying of refueling aircraft, fighter jets and drones, and whether or not the Portuguese government was informed of the nature of the mission, Rubio said: "I am not going to get into the details of what is or isn't being done."
"It is enough that we have existing protocols governing our presence here and how we use our bases, and we always follow them out of respect and to adhere to the agreements we have with our NATO allies."
