🔶 Military cooperation between France and Saudi Arabia to protect the Yanba oil terminal
The Commander-in-Chief of France's militant armed forces announced a review of various military options to protect the Yanba oil terminal in Saudi Arabia.
On Thursday, October 8, General Fabian Mendon announced in the parliament of this country that Paris and Riyadh are evaluating different scenarios for the use of French military equipment and forces for the security of the Yanba terminal. This vital energy export terminal was the target of a ground attack by the Iran-backed Houthis.
Referring to his country's military movements in the region, the head of the joint staff of the French army added that France has already deployed around 2,000 military forces to help protect its allies in the Persian Gulf, including Qatar and Kuwait. At the same time, the spokesperson of the French Foreign Ministry emphasized the full solidarity of Paris and Riyadh against these attacks. These statements were made following the escalation of drone and missile attacks by the Houthi militias in Yemen on the international airports and oil facilities of Saudi Arabia; attacks that in the latter case left at least three dead and dozens wounded at the airports of Riyadh and in other parts of this country.
