🔶 "Trump is considering new military options against Iran"
The "New York Times" reported in an exclusive report that US President Donald Trump ordered the preparation of plans to resume military strikes against Iran; however, he emphasized that no possible action will be taken before the US midterm elections on November 3.
According to the newspaper, the US President asked the Pentagon to formulate options for targeting Iran's missile and drone infrastructure, energy facilities, and other military centers.
The "New York Times", citing informed sources, adds that US security officials have proposed at least five major operations against Iran or the Houthis in recent months, but Trump has rejected these plans each time. However, according to the newspaper, Trump is again considering a new plan discussed at a Camp David meeting last Friday; a plan focused on a short, intensive three-day campaign.
On Thursday, October 8, Trump also said he would not order the resumption of military strikes against Iran before the US midterm elections on November 3.
Trump's new announcement comes as the US military has sent more military resources to the region.
Officials said a third aircraft carrier, the USS Theodore Roosevelt, along with thousands of troops stationed on the carrier and accompanying ships, could enter the region by the end of October.
