At least 30 people were killed and 18 others were injured following a ground attack by Russian forces on two passenger buses in the city of Kramatorsk, located in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine.

The Prosecutor's Office of the Donetsk Region and the Regional Governor's Office announced on Thursday, October 8, confirming these statistics, that following this incident, public transport activity in the city was completely stopped. Earlier reports said 12 people were killed in a ground attack on a bus, but with further investigations the number of victims rose.

The military governor of the Donetsk region, who posted photos of burned buses on his Telegram channel, said: "These are people killed by the Russian army." "There is no justification for this crime and there never will be."

Vadim Pilshkin, referring to the serious deterioration of the security situation, called on all remaining residents of the region to seek refuge in safer areas of Ukraine as soon as possible.
