🔸 The World Health Organization pressured Moscow to investigate after the death of the Russian researcher
After the death of a 28-year-old scientist and laboratory technician at the Epidemic Research Center in Siberia, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the US government demanded clarification from the Russian authorities and provided details of laboratory analyzes in this regard.
In this regard, the President of the United States Donald Trump announced his decision to hold a direct telephone conversation with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to discuss this issue.
The victim of this incident worked at the Anti-Plague Institute and died on Friday in a hospital in the city of Shalkov, near Irkutsk, Siberia.
However, the Russian health authorities strongly rejected the epidemic and announced the official cause of death of this researcher as pneumonia of unknown origin.
Pneumonic plague is a serious and deadly type of infection caused by Yersinia pestis bacteria, which can be treated with antibiotics if diagnosed in time. According to the Robert Koch Institute in Germany, this disease still exists in parts of Africa, America and Asia.
