The former head of Germany's foreign intelligence service was arrested on suspicion of espionage. According to an investigation by two networks and a German newspaper, one of August Henning's sources apparently provided him with confidential documents from this service.

The German Federal Prosecutor's Office announced on Tuesday, October 6 (October 14) that police arrested August Henning, the former head of Germany's foreign intelligence service (BND), on suspicion of espionage.

According to the report of the first channel of the German television (ARD), this new case related to "treason" could shake the foreign intelligence service of this country.

According to the WDR and NDR networks and the newspaper Süddeutsche, the German Federal Prosecutor's Office is investigating August Henning, the former head of the country's foreign intelligence service, on suspicion of treason, espionage against the state, obtaining information about government prisoners, attempting to betray the state and spying for the intelligence service.
