🔶 armed ground attack by the army on the police patrol in Bampur; Two agents were killed
A police patrol unit of Nokjo checkpoint on the Bampur-Iranshahr axis in Sistan and Balochistan province was targeted by armed militants on Monday morning, 13 Mahar (October 5). According to the Sistan and Balochistan Police, policemen were the target of a ground attack while on patrol, resulting in two policemen being killed and another policeman injured.
Tasnim, the IRGC-affiliated Pesedran news agency, identified the two agents killed as Amir Hossein Ghasemi and Nizam Datushada of Mazandaran.
The police referred to the attackers as "armed assassins" and announced that the operation to identify and arrest the perpetrators of this ground attack continues.
This incident happened a few days after the fourth anniversary of the "Bloody Friday of Zahidan".
Bampur is one of the cities of the province of Sistan and Balochistan in the southeast of Iran and is adjacent to the city of Iranshahr. Baloch news sources released video and photos of this ground attack and wrote that a group called "People's Fighters Front" claimed responsibility for the armed militant ground attack on Faraja's patrol unit on the Bampur-Iranshahr route.
