🔶 The resignation of the oil minister; Burd became the de facto Minister of Petroleum
Mehdi Tabatbai, the deputy of communications and information in the office of Massoud Pazhkian, the president of Iran, announced that Pazhkian has accepted the resignation of Oil Minister Mohsen Pekanjad.
He also said that Hamid Bord, the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company, was appointed to the position of Acting Oil Minister.
Before that, some local Iranian news agencies reported differences between the oil ministry and the Persian Gulf holdings.
According to the Tabnak website report, one of the most important aspects of Pekanjad's office was his disagreement with Mohammad Shariatmadari, CEO of Persian Gulf Holding.
According to this news site, this dispute started with the issue of changing the management of this holding and became one of the public disputes in the management structure of the oil industry.
Earlier, in the middle of the summer, the official website of the Ministry of Oil announced the election of Hassan Abbassada as the new CEO of the Persian Gulf Holding, but at the same time, the public relations of the holding denied this news. In recent months, several media reported on the possibility of Pekanjad's resignation or change.
