Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, during his visit to the Israeli naval base in Ashdod, said that Israel will expand its naval capabilities.

At the same time, he warned that threats to the country's maritime domain have increased.

Netanyahu also said in a video in Hebrew that his office published, referring to the latest threats by the Islamic Republic and the Houthis in the Strait of Hormuz and Belmandav, that the maritime area has become an "international battlefield".

During his visit to this base, which took place together with Israel Katz, the country's defense minister, the Prime Minister of Israel said: "Our enemies want to threaten our maritime domain in the Mediterranean, our seaports and maritime traffic. Obviously, we will not allow that to happen."
