🔶 The Supreme Court canceled the ban on the participation of Arab parties in the elections
The Supreme Court ruled that the Central Election Commission's decision to completely remove the "joint list" of mainly Arab parties from the elections, does not meet the legal criteria for disqualification.
The Supreme Court unanimously rejected the decision of the Central Election Commission to ban the participation of the joint list in the elections.
This court announced that the Central Election Commission's decision does not meet the strict requirements set for disqualification of elections.
The joint list includes parties whose main base is among the captive Arab citizens of Israel.
The Supreme Court also overturned the ban on the Ream party. Ream, a party with an Islamist background and headed by Mansour Abbas, was previously part of the government of Naftali Bint and Yair Lapid.
According to the published report, former Jewish Knesset member Yoav Seglovitz is also a member of the party. The Supreme Court also rejected the Central Election Commission's decision to ban the candidacy of Ofer Kasif, a representative of the Hadash party in the Knesset, by a vote of seven to two.
