🔶 The reaction of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the suspension of Iran flights to Iraq

In response to the cancellation of flights between Iran and Iraq, Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs demanded that these restrictions be removed and normal flights between the countries be resumed.

Following the expansion of American sanctions on Iranian flights, Iraqi sources announced the suspension of the flights of Iranian airlines to the airports of Baghdad, Najaf, Karbala and Erbil, the center of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in statements by the US, accused Iran of disrupting Iran's air traffic with other countries through the extraterritorial application of this country's sanctions and described these actions as "contrary to the United Nations Charter, international law and the principle of respecting the national sovereignty of countries."

In this statement, it was said that the restrictions created on passenger flights between Iran and Iraq are in conflict with the common interests of the two countries and create problems for hundreds of thousands of passengers, pilgrims, patients, students and economic activists.
