🔶 Bahrain's Formula 1 races will take place in Malaysia this year

The 16th Formula 1 car race will take place on Sunday, October 12 (October 4) at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia under the title "Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia". Bahrain is the official host of this competition and pays a large part of the cost of holding it.

Following America's ground attack and Israeli captives to Iran and the response of the Islamic Republic, the Bahrain and Saudi Formula 1 races, which were supposed to be held in April, were cancelled. With the ongoing crisis and no prospect of F1 returning to the region this year, the organizers decided to move the Bahrain race to Malaysia.

Bahrain is one of Formula 1's most profitable hosts, and a complete cancellation of the race could reduce millions of dollars in revenue from this competition.

The original season calendar included 24 races, but in addition to Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, Qatar on November 29 and Abu Dhabi on December 6 also faced uncertainty due to regional conditions. In the event of the cancellation of these two competitions, the Italian city of Imola could host an alternative competition.

Malaysia's Sepang circuit was a good choice for an alternative race due to the next race being held in Singapore on October 11 and the short distance between the two countries. This circuit, designed by Hermann Tilke, a German race track architect and designer, hosted Formula 1 from 1999 to 2017.
