America is sending another aircraft carrier to the Middle East
The Wall Street Journal newspaper and Axios news site reported simultaneously, citing American officials, that the aircraft carrier "Theodore Roosevelt" left the port of San Diego on Sunday, September 27. According to these media outlets, other ships, including an assault ship, departed for the Middle East on Monday. According to these reports, new warships, fighter jets, Marines, and sailors are expected to arrive in the region by the end of November.
America has already deployed the aircraft carriers "George H.W. Bush" and "George Washington" to the Middle East.
According to the Wall Street Journal, if both of these ships remain in the region after the arrival of the third ship, for the first time since April, three American aircraft carrier strike groups will be present in the region simultaneously. According to an American official, Axios reported that it is not yet clear whether the USS Theodore Roosevelt will replace one of the other two ships or be deployed as a third ship in the region.
The Wall Street Journal wrote that the US will increase the number of its forces in the region by 9,000 to 10,000 personnel.
